Living Dolls by Joan

Joan Gavornik has been on the cutting edge of creative doll making for several decades. Her work is imaginative, original and truly embodies the term "soft sculpture." Her custom-made Living Dolls have earned her high praise. She has received first place in various craft shows, including the prestigious Shad Fest in Lambertville, NJ.

Joan's love of music inspired her first series of characterizations. She then moved on to recreate ordinary people whom she found to be extraordinarily inspiring. As you browse through the gallery you will come across notable personalities from the past and present. But we won't be naming anybody, so you'll just have to browse to see their likenesses!

Joan is passionate about animal rights, which led her to create the "Furry Friends" series. Half of the purchase price of any soft sculpture will get donated to an animal shelter.

The shared compassion for animal rights is what inspired Joan to make a doll for the brassy singer pictured to the right with her. They are both active supporters of PETA.
